Advanced Encryption Standard
The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which implements the Rijndael cipher, is a symmetric block cipher that was developed as a result of a call by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology in 1997 for a secure cryptosystem to replace the then standard Data Encryption Standard algorithm, which had become vulnerable to brute-force attacks. Among several proposals, the Ri...
متن کاملAlgebraic Aspects of the Advanced Encryption Standard ” by Carlos
In their book the authors give an algebraic perspective of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The cipher Rijndael won the AES competition in 2000 after three years of considerations. Unlike many block ciphers known at that time and proposed nowadays, AES-Rijndael has very explicit algebraic description. The rich algebraic structure of the cipher attracted cryptologists from the moment of a...

متن کاملAn Implementation of Pipelined Rijndael with SystemC and Co-emulation with iPROVE
This paper describes an implementation of Rijndael, a new Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), with SystemC. The design started in the un-timed functional level description in C and was gradually refined until all blocks were translated into RTL SystemC, which can be synthesized with CoCentric SystemC Compiler. To improve the verification speed, cycle-accurate co-emulation was used. iPROVE, an F...
متن کاملEvaluating the performance of Symmetric Key Algorithms: AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and DES (Data Encryption Standard)
Encryption algorithms are known to be computational intensive. Internet and networks applications growing very fast, so the needs to protect. Encryption plays the very important role in information security system. On the other side, the symmetric key algorithms consume a significant amount of computed resources such as speed, time, memory and cost. The symmetrical algorithms AES and DES as a s...
